WEEKEND (HaPPY THANnksgIvINg!!!!)

Listening to: A funny Aussie TV show called The Glass House

9 Moons Ago: Like I care tonight..really!

Working 8 hour days does not make for much art-making energy!! Thus, the weekend provides the perfect chance to catch up on chairs and other artsy stuff!!
In other news, there will be a party sometime in Dec. or early Jan. in… get ready…

…Pennsylvania!!!

Yeah..so, I won’t be traveling anywhere else but my hometown and surrounding areas ..but, if you are a friend who has been asking, “WHEN are you visiting??!” ..well, this is your heads up.
No party date set yet..nor flight date even..but I’ll let ya know!
Should be arriving, sans husband, sometime after the 6th Dec!! YAY!!!!!!
(Well, I will miss him heaps..so “Yay” and “Boooo” simultaneously ..but yeah.. YAY anyway!!!!)

And, because I want to post something artsy:

This image, celebrating my new muscles from lifting up boxes of wine, was done entirely in photoshop. That’s how much I hate having to scan stuff!! I mean, I’ve had 4 things to scan and post for days!! Not tonight, suckas!!

p.s. The wine and crusty bread are, like, the best!!! Makes the monotony of putting bottles into gift bags or boxes worth it at the end of the week!! Well, that and the sheckles!!($)
Party in Wonga land TONIGHT!! Whoo!!!

    haha!! nice muscles! :-)

and why don’t you take pics with your digital camera instead of using the scanner? would that be any easier?

  2. Amy Says:

    Thanks!
Actually, taking pics with the digital camera would either be a lot more work, or it’d be a really crappy image. (Getting good focus, colors, and transferring the images from iphoto to photoshop before cropping, etc.)
Nah, it’s not really hard to scan…it’s just a mindset thing that I need to change. When I starting scanning my artwork in school, it was a new thing, and it took AGES to do!!
    ….. A ……….G………..E …………. S….

But thanks for mentioning an alternative ..because it’s made me think about why I actually hate it!

Now that’s a cute photoshop drawing! Do you draw with a mouse or with a tablet and stylus (like a wacom). Sounds like you need a new scanner. I love my Epson 3170 Photo. it sits at my right hand and scans quickly and easily – right inside Photoshop. When you decide to get rid of your current one, take a look at Epson.

    Thanks Karen!
    I draw with a mouse.
Oh, our scanner isn’t too bad..the first one I used back in ’93 was the one that tainted my opinion of them! But, yeah..I’m sure that the newer ones rock! I’ll keep Epson in mind when we upgrade.

By the way, I just love your last 2 entries! Especially the Doo Dah parade! Sounds like so much fun!!

Oh, and the natural images in rocks, too!! I love that kind of stuff. We went to Lurray Caverns years ago and saw natural formations there..my favorite was the stalagmite which looked just like a hard boiled egg.
I also love art created with natural objects..Andrew Goldworthy’s stuff is brilliant and breath-taking!! I had the chance to see some at a sculpture garden in N.Y. I’d love to buy a book of his photos one day.
