Cats No.2

Here is the most recent view of the quilt square I’ve been working on…although, once again, there is more finished now than when I scanned the piece:

For Lent, instead of giving up something, I decided I’d DO something.
What I’m doing is creating things..artwork, gifts, decorative items…and most importantly, quilt squares. Every day this Lent, I’ll be sewing on the quilt square..whether it’s one stitch, or 40 or 300!

I will not be doing this for the original “quilt 2005″ deadline; but I know there will need to be more quilts made down the track; so I’ll make these squares, and probably join up with the original group, or some new people to make another quilt to auction for charity.

I’m in no rush, as I know this will be beautiful, and needed so much by the people receiving the benefits; no matter when it is finished.
So I’ll be in touch, but the next few days I may be a bit quiet online..we’ll have to wait and see…

In the meantime, I’m just fine. Very happy and looking forward to seeing all my friends and family again!! I’m comin’ over, guys!! No date set..but I’m comin’ over!

A cat family! How precious. I like the idea of doing something rather than not doing something for Lent.

    Kat,
Thanks!! Do you think they’ll need tails? I was considering adding some, and as you are "the cat person", I thought I’d ask your advice. Plus, you’re a damn fine artist….I trust your judgement. I was thinking maybe show a tail or two..just so it’s easier for people to tell they are cats….
    Love you,
    Amy

    Karen and Nikki,
Thanks, guys!! I can’t take credit for that idea. In grade school, one of my teachers told us that we could decide to give something up for Lent, or, as an alternative, we could do something.
I have given up things in the past..things I really crave.. ..like ice cream, and dill pickles… ..and it was hard, but I did it. This year I want to DO something. It could be one or the other..or it could be both at the same time…so, "it’s all good"! ;-)
    Take Care!
    Love,
    Amy

    Kirsten,
    Thanks!! You’re adorable too!! :-D
Miss hearing from you..so it’s great to get your feedback…
How ARE you?! Drop me an email sometime, will you? It may take me a while to respond..I may be offline for a few days..but I WILL write back and let you know my plans!
    Love,
    Amy

well, i knew immediately that they were cats, but i suppose a cat tail wouldn’t hurt. maybe behind the mommy cat? i don’t think it’s necessary for them all to have tails. they’re so darn cute! can’t wait to see the finished product!

    xoxoxo

darn good idea, doing something good for lent, instead of giving up chocolate or something… we all need chocolate! and I’m going to follow your example! (it’ll last a week but that’s longer than giving chocolate would last)
