Catch Up
Well, I suppose I’d better get off my duff and start posting more if I want to inject some life into this blog o mine!
Lets see…what going on with me? Well, Ive got a bad cold, which may or may not turn into a sinus infection. YAY!
Ive been getting outside and walking more, gearing up for October when Ill be back in Australia, walking Gus again! A real YAY!
Im growing weary of the difficulty in drawing with the mouse..Ive done a few drawings that Im not posting because they just arent where I want to be right now. Im going to have to get myself a new sketchbook once Im back home and do my drawing every day like I had been for a while there. I do have some sketchbook drawings that I did over the summer though.
I’m starting to think of the things I want to say at the memorial service for Tammy, which is going to be held at Moore College of Art and Design next month. Its a difficult thing, but I’d regret it if I didnt say a few words to honor her memory. Im also going to make a collage of photographs for her baby daughter, Anna. I havent spoken to Matt, her husband, personally yet, although I did leave a message on his answering machine a couple of months ago and emailed him as well. I dont know what exactly holds me back from talking to him, but I must get over it and call him one of these nights.
I have my next psych appt. on Monday, so hopefully he’ll reduce the meds again. He’s reduced them twice already and I believe I’m doing better because of it. My friends and family can see my improvements too.
Ike is walking around like a little whirling dervish! He’s constantly on the go, which has us all chasing him, and consequently worn out when hes here! I always get a good night’s sleep after he leaves!
I thought I’d do a self portrait today, but I worked from a photograph since I cant prop a mirror up at the computer to draw from. Hope you like it. It’s got that genuine mouse wonkiness that we’ve all come to know as mediocre at best! Well, Ive just got to stop criticizing my work so much and just be content in the knowledge that I’ve come a long way in the few months that I’ve been drawing this way. Maybe because of this hiatus from real sketching, I’ll come back full force with a newish way of looking at things by the end of next month! Can you tell I’m so ready to get back there and do some work?!

Anybody out there have links to cool artsy blogs or sites? I need to find some new ones!

Thank you! Oh, any kind of painting or illustration site. I get some new ones from Drawn!, but a lot of those are cartoons, which I’m not that into.

I like your sketch, Amy, and I’m glad to see you posting again.
I have a good sized list of fellow sketchers on my site if you want to take a look.
