The Cycle of the Cyclamen
I thought last year’s cyclamen was stunning:

Boy, was I wrong:

This year’s specimen proves my point even furthur. It thrives on NEGLECT.
I’ve really got to get some new plants for other areas of the house, though. I have plenty of weeding to do, but that’s no fun. Let’s get some pretty colourful hanging baskets and potted plants! YAY!
I must admit though, that the lavender and roses are doing well, and we had some gorgeous camellia blooms as well. So the window sills have been prettied up for the season. I just like having some plants on the porch to brighten up the entrance. Also want to get a bench, eventually. We went to Bunnings the other week to get inspiration and look at prices. Once I’m working again, we’ll be able to get more stuff. For now, it’s just browsing.
Yeah, bleh, the job searching. I have to be honest, it isn’t fun, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I am not feeling 100% ready to work yet, so, as suggested by our friend, Bethany, I won’t look for full time work just yet. Part time will be enough to get me back into the swing of things. I want to eventually do artwork for a living, but right now I just need a job. Talking about it makes it a little less daunting. I’ll keep plugging away at it and keep you informed.
Got nice mail this week! Photos and a letter from Mom and a letter from Kathy-la! Thanks guys!! I’ll write back soon! Miss the family heaps, but I’ll try my best at keeping in touch more. I’ve just been taking a break from blogging these past couple of weeks while adjusting to being back.
Went to the Library too, and that was good. Got some personal development books, and if they turn out to be helpful for me, I’ll share the names of them. Well, one is “The Road Less Traveled” by M. Scott Peck, which is one I’ve heard is good from various sources. I like self help books, even if I sometimes get sick of them or get fed up with them. Right now, I’m feeling ready to make some changes in my life, so I’m welcoming the new literature. It’s just fun to go to the Library, anyway. Next time, I want to look at some art books.
Daniel’s party was indeed fun fun fun! Met up with some friends that I hadn’t seen in ages, and met some new ones. There was a fire in the back, and the fairy lights, of course. The theme of the party was “magic”, so Daniel had songs on that reflected that, none of which I can recall. (That’s just my hazy memory, not because the music wasn’t good.) He did a few tricks, and also did a puzzle game, where you looked for clues all over the house and garden. I ended up solving the puzzle, with a friend, Dave. Daniel put a lot of work into it for sure, but he said the hardest part was getting the clues to rhyme! haa. Cam and Dave and I stayed and talked to Daniel till 4 am. Par for the course with Cam and I!
I think I’m making up for my lack of posting in the one entry. I’ll stop now and save some for tomorrow! Yes, I’m going to post tomorrow, as long as nothing drastic takes place to prevent it. Time to start letting people know what’s going on in this neck of the woods! Now we’re off to the shops! Seeya lata!

Glad to see that you are posting again. Things were too quiet for a little while. Anyway, glad you got my letter, there’s another one on the way! (don’t faint!) Ike had his 15 month check up today, which included 4 shots :(. He handled it well, and is now taking a much needed nap. Hmmm, a nap sounds like a good idea!
I have been trying to e-mail you some pictures, but there’s something screwy going on with our internet. I’m at mumsy’s tonight, so I’ll try again on her computer. If it doesn’t work, I’ll send them "snail mail". Sounds like you’re doing well!
Love you and miss you lots!!!!

I find that some plants do better when they’re not disturbed too much.

Kaffy,
Another letter?! Wow! Man, I’m gonna have to get some more stamps soon! Aww, poor Ike…at least he’s doing well. Did you get YOUR nap in?
Stupid screwey intranet! I’ll look forward to the pictures though.
Yep, I’m doing well..how are you doing? Oh, guess I’ll find out in your letter…hee.
Love you and miss you lots, too!
Kirsten,
Yeah, that plant was totally not disturbed..I was in another country the whole time! Ha.
