		<description>The St. Patrick&#039;s Friday/Lent thing is a local decision, made by each diocese. I presume that this is because there are many places in the world where nobody gives a rat&#039;s patootie about corned beef on St. Paddy&#039;s Day or any other day, for that matter. 

Most of the time, they only address the eating meat aspect of things. Anything else that you may have given up would still be &lt;i&gt;verboten.&lt;/i&gt;</description>
