Happy Days
Well, it’s been a great week. Cameron and I met up with Richard E. Grant (Cam runs his website) on Tuesday to hear him talk and to see his new movie, “Wah-Wah”, an autobiographical account of his early life in Swaziland. It is a comedy/drama and we enjoyed it so much. Really beautiful, funny and quite touching.
We also went to see Richard on Rove and had a great time there. The guests included Chris Isaak (YAY!) and a group I like called The Living End. Fun night!
The last two nights saw the mercury dip pretty low, but we spent both nights in the front room with the dogs, snuggly in front of a nice warm fire, while working on projects. Tonight is the first time I’ve been on the computer in a while. It’s been raining and still cold tonight, but the space heater is right next to me so it’s not so bad.
We’ve had a few small shopping trips this week too, to pick up fruits, veggies, the newspaper and a dire necessity: chocolate! On one of these trips I saw a small bag of drink decorations and since they were bright & cheery (and cheap), I bought them to hang up in my studio. Little paper parasols! Cam thought it was a little odd, but I explained, that they are fun, I’m an artist so I’m supposed to do stuff like that :-), and Kathy, Christina and I had a great time finding stuff just like this at 2 am in our *huge unnamed bargain store* travels, plus, I just like them! Right now, there are three sitting on top of my computer.
The scanner is on the blink, but we’ll probably be getting a new one soon. Until then, it’s computer art again!:

Ames, i LOVE Richard E!!! Our lot says he looks like my duh bro-in-law….NOPE!!! HE looks like Beaker out of the muppets, not our Richard….his eyes rock! Are you wintering as we are summering? Feel your pain…;)

Bernie,
Aww..cool that you’re a fan of REG. He’s taller than I imagined! Very charming too. Imagine my surprise one afternoon when I answered the telephone and he was on the line!
Haa..had to laugh about Beaker!!
Yes, we are wintering..I kind of compare June down here to Dec. up there! And, it’s not so bad..toasty fires, or heaters, and heaps of blankets on the bed. We’re getting a new electric blanket soon, too!
Take care,
Ames
