Life is a Beach
Gus has been feeling better and wanted to thank everyone for the well-wishes and love. Here he is bird-watching and enjoying the fresh air in Mum and Dad’s backyard this past weekend:
I tried to get a picture of the rainbow-lorikeet parrots in the apple tree, but they were being camera-shy.
Yesterday I had a doctor appointment near the city and afterwards Cam surprised me by taking a detour on the way home…to the beach! YAY. It was a beautiful day..sunny, but with a nice cool breeze. We went to Elwood Beach which is a large bay area, where you can see the city skyline on one side and gorgeous large houses on the other side. The water was deep blue and sparkly, contrasting greatly with the white caps of the waves.
There were a few people there, but it was nice and quiet. There was a couple walking with their baby daughter who was wearing a bright green sweatshirt and a diaper. She loved splashing her feet in the water and kept wobbling and falling in the sand with a big smile on her face.
After I waded for a bit and picked up some shells and sea glass, Cam and I went to a cafe for lunch where we had a seat overlooking the beach and water. It was so beautiful. And the lunch was delicious. I had beer battered fish and chips, and a cranberry juice. We watched a group of children on the beach who had just walked over from a school or daycare.
Though we didn’t have the camera with us, I found some pictures on a tourist site of an area very close to where we were. I am still amazed by the palm trees here, after all these years!:

It was great to see the ocean again! I’m sure we’ll get there again before the cold weather hits.
Otherwise, things are busy as usual, but good. If I don’t appear with a new post before next week, have a happy Easter!

I am SO happy that Cam surprised you with a lovely day at the seaside. The photos are just beautiful. Thanks for including them. We’ll be talking to you this weekend. HAPPY EASTER!!
Your dad and I are thinking about going to the Easter Vigil Mass tonight at 8:00. Can you believe it? Just thought it would be nice for a change and we wouldn’t be crushed into a pew at the morning service. Our choir is sounding so much better with a new director-Mike Markey. The Sat. evening Mass is beautiful with all of the rituals, etc. Leaving now to buy your dad a new shirt for church–a light blue or green one, of course. We’ve been invited to the Becker’s house for Easter dinner at 4:00 pm tomorrow. It will be delicious and such good company! Sending lots of love to all the Miller’s and pups. Miss you. Mother

Glad the pooch is feeling better. I have to say that I didn’t like the add on your page about why dalmations are dying before their time. You know that my Benny is the love of my life and the add scared me. You big bully!

Hello Mumsy! And a belated HAPPY EASTER to you, too! We’ve got to re-charge our phone, or we would have called by now. Been busy with appointments, etc. I’ve got my new contacts now and we’ll pick up Cam’s reading glasses soon. The weather has been cooler, but beautiful.

Oh my, I didn’t know there were ads about dying dogs! Jeeze. Sorry about that.
The ads are based on keywords in the text of the entries, so they are different all the time. For instance, the ones I’m looking at today are for art prints and posters and “friendship based poems”.
Having said that, there have been some very questionable ones that crack me up… for instance, there was one a while ago for “bereavement airlines”! Yikes! I won’t be flying with them!
I’ve been reading your MySpace and having a good chuckle at all the funny stuff.
