But You'll Look Sweet, Upon the Seat…
This year I’m going to help my parents with a spring cleaning. On one side of the garage there are all sorts of bikes and scooters and so I took a picture of the jumble and have worked on one bike in particular for this drawing. ( I’m a bit rusty and wasn’t quite ready to tackle the bicycles three layers deep.) The purple and rainbow banana seat bike was my sister’s and, like most of the bikes, has had a fair bit of use.
I initially worked from the photograph, sketching on paper with black ink, then I put the photo away and worked the color in, like paint, in Photoshop, with the mouse. Played with color, shadows, type and decorative elements. My first digital painting of the year and I’m ready to do some more!
