Just because I haven’t done this in a while, and because I figured that my family wouldn’t mind seeing my mug after a couple of weeks off….
It was a fun photo shoot and there was nice light, even though the flash went off for some.

I bring you…… me:

I prefer the term queer, myself. Hrmphh.

Google knows something that I don’t!:

gay painter daily self portraits.

Of course, this is all due to the rant I did one week in January ’05, before I had a full blown manic episode and went into the hospital in Feb. I still think it has it’s merits, even though I was border-line ill when I wrote it, and I sometimes wince at stuff I’ve put up there for the whole world to read.

For some reason (I called Liberace a fruit) I felt I had to make it clear that I was not anti-gay. That, yes, I had gay friends and relations and went to a few bawdy places in my youth. Nowadays I’d just call Liberace a fruit and leave it at that.

Well, it’s an honor to be that high on the list anyway.

And my husband says he has excellent gaydar. Ha!

listening to: Sunday Night Safran (Podcast). YAY! And a funny mix of cool songs played for me by Cameron, including \'Dazed, Beautiful and Bruised\' by Catatonia, \'Broken Door\' by Jasper the Halibut, \'Morning Has Broken\' by Cat Stevens, \'Broke in Two\' by They Might Be Giants, and R.E.M.\'s \'Why Not Smile\', which starts off ..\'The concrete broke your fall.....\' Thanks Sweetie. It made me laugh!

Decided to draw a self portrait today. Not sure if I really like it, but it’s better than not having drawn anything!:

Well, it’s a few days into the Artist’s Way and time to start thinking of what I’ll be doing my my Artist’s Date (solo excursion or activity done on a weekly basis to help “fill the well” of creative enthusiasm). One of the tasks I’ve done is listing a group of alternative careers, just for fun. And the other part of the task to do do something related to one of them. I chose “gardner” as mine, so I’ve been thinking of things to do this week related to that career. I’ve been gardening, of course. I’ve been looking at seed catalogs online, made a list of things I’d like to have in my garden, and today I’m digging out some gardening magazines. So, I think for my Artist Date I’ll spend an hour or so in the garden dept at a local hardware store and just browse and take notes, and maybe pick up a plant. I want to look at flowers, grasses, shrubbery (a nice one, not too expensive!), water features, sculptures, and tools. Should be fun!

It’s been overcast and a bit drizzly today. Was thinking about doing a little more gardening/yardwork today, but I might leave it for another day. There’s enough to do inside, anyway. And after the chores maybe I’ll play a game of Rummikub with Cam..haven’t done that in a little while!
