The Things That Can Take You By Surprise…

Today I was thinking of a funny thing that happened in Melbourne when Cameron and I were driving Ebony to a party one day. There were people on the roadway collecting money in buckets for what we thought was the Salvation Army. Cam handed the money to the man who walked up to the driver’s side window. He smiled at us and called out, “Thanks for saving the gay whales!” We stared at him blankly for a split second before he explained that “the kids love that one!”. He was a volunteer for the Victorian Association of Youth in Communities, which supports young teens who have social and family problems. We laughed long and hard over the one-liner, and I kept the flier in my pocket because it was such a funny memory.

These days I want to keep those funny and good memories in my pocket and do my best to stop rehashing the old broken and negative memories. It’s been a turbulent month as far as recovery goes, but I am getting there. I am happier than I have been in a long while and know how to cope with my emotions in a much healthier way. So far, so good! In fact, I wasn’t expecting to feel this good at all! It’s a most welcome and wonderful feeling.

To all of you reading this and supporting me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! ;-D
All My Love,
Amy

Now get out there are vote for change ya crazy dirty hippies….and take your Mother witcha!

After all she gave you, the least you could do would be to give her a right to voice her opinion…even if she does think global warming is a myth despite the OVERWHELMING evidence, hates black people and still thinks women can not make good leaders.
Let’s go for record numbers, no matter what the outcome!

Thank you.

Now, here’s a link that is good to look at for today (or any day, really):

Amy is going to do this for her garden, her family and the environment.

I haven’t watched the Simpsons in a while…in fact, I haven’t watched much TV in recent months. But when I turn on the tv here at home and can not find a single music video to make me feel better when I am recovering, then I know this WORLD is CRAZY.
Music Television helped me recover from my first hospitalization when I was 21, in 1995. I sat and soaked up the inspiration and healed just by listening to the music and watching the great film footage. I felt inspired and whole.

I don’t want to sit and watch the computer screen to watch videos..that takes energy. I want my MTV back. Why is there nothing but game show after game show? It’s been like this for YEARS. I used to watch 120 minutes with my Mom (cause she is cool like that) and then they killed that off.

It SUCKS and it’s pissing me off..and I can’t afford M2 in a cable package so they can sod off.
But …new bands keep requesting me on MySpace and that’s cool. At least I can find stuff without having to look for it too hard. It’s just not as relaxing.

Does anyone agree with me here? I’m not so sure I’ll get a response, but if you live in Australia, you won’t relate anyway… they actually show and play a lot of good music there. THAT is what I’ll miss: music is my “chocolate husband”. I NEED it…it sweeps me off my feet.
