Had a great weekend!

Daniel’s South Pacific party on Saturday night! It was rockin!! The front hallway had been transformed into a jungle and the dancefloor was filled with lights, vines, (green crepe was a great idea, Daniel!) flowers..even a monkey hanging in the corner or the room! (opposite the mini disco/mirror ball) Lots of fun music.

Out the back were tiki lights and a bricked-in fire and fairy lights/lanterns! Great drinks! Had a passion-fruit-pinneapple-coconut-rum punch concoction with banana and orange slices in it! Yumm!
Adrian wore his famous grass skirt too! Funny how many times a grass skirt can come in handy!! Danced up a storm as the party was in full swing and later on a few of us stayed around talked till past 4! Daniel gave us some bananers and watermelon to take home..delicious!

Had a fun lunch at Mum and Dad’s on Sunday. Everyone was there and it was good to catch up! We took the puppies for a walk Ebony for a bike-ride to the park. Warm weather but not too hot! Cam played with his new camera and got some fun movies of Melissa’s dogs.

O.K. I’m gonna go finish unpacking stuff..because I’ve been wanting to do that all week! It’s been hectic! And so maybe some day very soon, you guys will get to see some pictures and illustrations up here too!

listening to: old english movie soundtrack from the TV in the other room

I had the most sweet, juicy, scrumptious seedless watermelon today! With just a little salt…ooh so good! It hit the spot!! Wonderful weather!!! Took a nice drive to see some cherished friends!

Did I mention that the watermelon was out of this world??
I must get more soon! It’s good for you, too! How convenient!

Copperhead!

Well 3 flights, 2 days, and 1 glass of white wine later, we’re back in Wonga-Land! With our 2 lovely pups, and another golden retriever possibly coming to live with us?! But, enough of the math!

The drama for the day was my seeing a snake sunning itself on a rock just outside our door as I was bringing in groceries. I wasn’t scared at all..just told Cam and locked the pups inside.

We got ahold of the second “snake-wrangler” (my terminology) on the list that our local council gave us. He was a crazy and fun guy! And ripped!! (aka “muscles galore”) And before Mel asks, no, he was not wearing a shirt.

Apparantly, he’s written 7 books on the subject of snakes! He was a madman today, chopping foliage, turning over boulders and giving us an hour long interesting lecture on reptiles as we provided extra eyes from a safe distance.

He got the bugger, a smallish copperhead. Luckily, this is the only snake that has been seen since Cam moved in about 5 or 6 years ago. We took a pic of him through the plastic container.

My favourite quote, after I gave the guy 2 glasses of water:
“Thanks! You’re a legend!”

Ha!! Too funny….

I’ll get the illustrations up and running next week.

Oh..and a quick apology to everyone that expected to see me over holidays, rather than something long and boring:
Sorry! I’ll try to do better next time, o.k.?!

See ya on the flip side!

I won’t have a chance to start this up again till I’m back home. Sometime after the 17th..

Suffice it to say, tonight was great! Everyone came over and we had fun! Wonderful friends, gorgeous babies, splendid roses, gifts, Chinese food and valentine theme desserts! Kathy did call off and is spending the night!!
Whoo!

I got a topaz for Valentine’s day, which Cam is going to make into a pendant or necklace or something..he’s been looking at jewelery designs! YAY!

Thanks to everyone who sent me email!! Christiana..I have your Philly address..I’ll be using it! The apology to friends will have to wait..tired and ,of course, I am packing last minute..the DAY before we leave..great!
Goodnight!
Love you all..
