Kool Red Shoes x4

Well, I’m still alive, if anyone still stops by to check this out!! Ha!
Yes, I’ve been slack, but I’ll make no excuses for it either.

Got a phone call the other night..and found out that our godchild, Anna, was born on May 13th!! YAYY!! Congratulations, Tammy and Matt!! We’re so happy for you and can’t wait to meet her!

The brother-in-law and his friend stayed over the weekend to help chop up some wood for winter. Thanks Duncan and Cass!!

Anyway, on to me sketch for the day.
A couple of nights ago, I decided to draw a sketch for an entry, and realised I was wayyy too tired, so I finished it quickly and went to bed. Then yesterday, I looked at it and thought I’d play on the computer for a few hours, to see how I could tranform a kind of “quick & dirty” drawing. So I happily painted with the brushes, erasers, and filters on photoshop. I ended up with 4 or 5 new versions, but these are the ones I like most. (The first one is the original):

That’s all for me today. We’re going over to Mum and Dad’s later, and then on to see an exhibition of “Steampunk” artwork. I may explain that term another time..but I’m being difficult and a bit vague today. Explaining’s for suckers!! Hee..See ya later!

Pooky: Joyce Style

It’s chilly tonight, so I’m not spending much time on the computer. Going out to the front room and lighting a nice fire.
I may draw or paint later.

Here’s a painting from last year: My “Pooky” (Garfield’s teddy bear) which I bought on a school field trip at age 9. Funny thing is, he cost $9 too!
I love William Joyce illustrations, so one of his books is sitting in the background. I was experimenting with how Joyce does his watercolours. (Layering only 4 colours: Yellow, Red, Blue and Black or Brown.) I enjoyed painting it and liked the results, even though it’s nowhere near Joyce’s vibrant mastery of colour, but I don’t think I’d have the patience to do it so carefully on a regular basis. It took me a while to do, and I totally lost track of time. That’s a cool thing when creating, but it’s not always practical!
Yay anyway tho!! ..Maybe I’ll paint Pooky in different styles sometime. The next one might be Van Gogh? (No, I will not cut off one of his ears!!)

Well, I’m back in the creative mode again! I felt a little down for a while last night, but it didn’t last long at all because, rather than crawl under the covers, which is what I really wanted to do, I got up and became active. I also tried to change my negative thoughts to positive ones..and ..it worked! Yay!
So I had a nice evening/night of drawing and computer doodling. I made a new banner. See? *points up*
Thanks for the positive energy from everyone!

Here is the sketch from my journal:

And now I’m off to finish writing up the “about” page that I started about a month ago…
Take Care, everyone!!

*Tammy & Matt, we’re thinking of you!! I’ll try to call soon. I still don’t know Natasha’s due date..some friend, eh? Kathy said she thinks it’s about the 17th. If so, Cam’ll be happy. Ha! ;-)
