JAKERS!!
Sunday, December 4th, 2005Had a fantabulous weekend with Faye and Wayne. They came over bearing the fine gifts of cheese, crackers and booze! Cam cooked up his famous sarsparilla chicken and we all had a great time sitting around the fire and chatting till the wee hours of the morning. Did you twig? Yeah, I said fire..in summer. It was actually not too bad, but cold enough to warrant the four of us gathering wood and sawing it up. Yes, me made our guests work for their dinner! But a good time was had by all! This afternoon we had a nice lunch of bacon and eggs and toast in front of the fire, and it warmed up a bit as the day went on.
Tonight I called up Adrian and Daniel and we have penciled in Friday to possibly go see The Corpse Bride, depending on Adrian’s work load and Daniel’s love life. :-)
On Saturday we’ll be going to the extended family Christmas lunch. Should be fun. Cam has plans to loudly yell out “Jakers!” in his Irish accent during a conversation to see what the reaction will be. It always makes me laugh, anyway. Ahh, it’s good to let the younger set figure out that being an adult does not necessarily mean you’ve grown up.
I really must start writing letters home more often. My sister has sent me letters faithfully since my return to Australia, and I’ve only replied to one so far! Recently she sent me the most gorgeous outfit for Thanksgiving and I’ve got to post a picture of me wearing it for you all to see! Just about the only thing that would improve it’s look would be if I used a bedazzler on it…so now you get an idea of just how special it is!
I’m still in the “figuring out what’s gonna work for me” mode concerning this site and other things, but this time of year is good for that, isn’t it? New year, new beginnings. So Cam and I are also going to do some brainstorming for our studio, Moonbright Creative, and we’ll make some plans as to what we want to accomplish in 2006. It may take some time for me to be as freely creative as I was a year ago, but I’ll get there again.
Now it’s off to dreamland. I won’t say what time it is here, but let’s just say I want to get in bed before the magpies start caroling. Tomorrow is a mystery. We’ll see just what the day holds in store…. and that’s a rather nice thought. Oh the possibilities!
