What I'm Not Saying

While I could write about the way our phone line and internet were not working for almost an entire week, and that they came out to fix things three times, or the fact that my nephew and brother-in-law celebrated their birthdays at the end of last week (HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, IKE AND ZACH!) and there is a birthday card still sitting on my desk right in plain view, or that we cleaned furiously for two days and then enjoyed going to a party (for cousin, Hannah) and had great fun entertaining overnight guests (Mum, Dad, and Ebony) on Saturday and Sunday, or that the cleaning resulted in back problems for me yesterday and today (I’m O.K. now), but that because of that we had fish and chips for dinner last night (YAY!), I’ll just show you two pictures that I drew on the computer, that are a little quirky, in a good way, and totally unrelated to any of the above. I may or may not expand on said happenings another time!:

Enjoying the Posies

Colder and wetter, still!

So, there have been makings of chicken corn soup, and eating of oranges, which I crave in the winter. Jaunts through the pines and paddocks with the dogs, wearing boots, wooly sweaters and a hat. Visiting the horses who have a shaggier coat and lots of blankets on. Yet, in the garden, the red roses are starting to bloom, the green leaves and stems of freesias are bursting from the ground, and I found three pink camellias, which I brought in to float in a bowl. I keep thinking of the Posies song, “Earlier Than Expected”.. because it seems at least 2 months too soon for this. But hey, I’m not complaining! :-D

Counting Blessings

It’s amazing what you can find when you go for a walk in the country in the middle of winter!:

Even though you sometimes have to use one of these:

From a wet, cold, wintery Melbourne….enjoy that summer warmth! But we’re all snug and cozy with a new electric blanket on the bed and plans for pre-cut firewood next week. We’ve got clean clothes, with our spiffy new washing machine working wonderfully, and have just had a nice weekend over at the in-laws’ saying goodbye to Faye & Wayne who are moving to Western Australia. Played “Go Fish” with Eb (a new game for her) and she painted my nails. Yummy meals too – for example, meatloaf, potatoes and greens, with choc. chocolate-chip muffins and ice cream for dessert!
In a few weeks we’re having Mum and Dad and Ebony spent the weekend. Should be lots of fun! And one more great thing to add to the list: a package from my family! YAY! Winter coat, clothes, a cozy robe, chocolate, a Paul Simon CD and pictures! We had fun opening it! Thanks so much Mom and Dad! (I’ll email you this week.)

I’ve been looking at volunteering a couple of days a week, and today put my name in to be contacted..we’ll see how that goes. Spending more time in my studio these days. I’ve been wanting to paint more, but some things need sorting out first… anyway, it’s been fun just cleaning, trashing, and organizing things.

Yep..things are all well in Wongaville. It may be wet outside, but our spirits aren’t dampened at all…. mmmmm, spirits… ;-)

The good thing about this particular card is…

…it’s re-usable!:

Love ya Dad! We’ll be talking to you soon. Hope your day is wonderful!!!
