Merrie Little Christmas

listening to: Gwen Stefani: The Sweet Escape
9 moons ago: Dec 18, 2006: Was mildly stressing about finishing my gift-buying and card-sending.

Suffice it to say, it was a most wonderful Christmas! Beautiful church services, enough of a chill in the air to make it feel like winter, warm family hugs and laughter, delicious food, great gifts, peaceful music, cheerful music, twinkling lights and ornaments, sparkling wine, the enthusiasm of a two and a half-year-old opening his presents of “cars, trucks and tractors”, a few hilarious drunk games of mad libs, gag gifts which sent us into fits of giggles, and full hearts all around.

Hope you and your loved ones are having wonderful holidays as well!

(As you can see, I have not updated “FriskyWife” due to a photoshop problem. Will fix that up soon-ish and we’ll get back on track.)

If I’m not around before 2007, have a spectacular New Year’s Eve!

I prefer the term queer, myself. Hrmphh.

Google knows something that I don’t!:

gay painter daily self portraits.

Of course, this is all due to the rant I did one week in January ‘05, before I had a full blown manic episode and went into the hospital in Feb. I still think it has it’s merits, even though I was border-line ill when I wrote it, and I sometimes wince at stuff I’ve put up there for the whole world to read.

For some reason (I called Liberace a fruit) I felt I had to make it clear that I was not anti-gay. That, yes, I had gay friends and relations and went to a few bawdy places in my youth. Nowadays I’d just call Liberace a fruit and leave it at that.

Well, it’s an honor to be that high on the list anyway.

And my husband says he has excellent gaydar. Ha!

“…More fully developed empathy requires more than simply recognizing another’s emotional state. Since emotions are typically directed towards objects or states of affairs (either real or imaginary), the empathiser first requires some idea of what that object might be.

Next, the empathiser must determine how the emotional feeling will significantly affect the way in which he perceives the other person. The empathizer needs to determine the aspects of the person upon which to focus.

Hence he must not only recognize the person toward which the other is directed, but also then recognize the bodily feeling, and then add these components together. The empathiser needs next to find the way into the loop where perception of the other person generates feeling. That feeling affects the perception of the other person. This process occurs before taking in account the character of the other person as well as their wider non-psychological context (such as being short or being a lawyer)…”

The Lazy Blogger

I think I’ll be “lazy” till the end of the year, at least. Everyone is busy anyway, right? Right.

I have been having lots of fun here in PA, with family and friends. I plan on seeing more ppl through the next couple of weeks and into January.

Cards and packages need to be mailed. A little shopping to do …decorating, baking, etc. .. so for a little while longer, this blog may sleep silently like the (non-existent) snow. Snow. A thought which is in great contrast to the bold flowery masthead here.

Well, it is summer Down-Under, you know.

Anyway, you’ve been warned: Few, if any, new posts on 9 Moons till ‘07. (Yeah, so nothing has really changed..he he.)

If you are itchin’ to see things being updated, please go to this cool retro site:

FriskyWife

I’ll be continuing to post new things there this month, when I have snippets of time.

Lazy? Hmm….. Not quite!

May everyone have happy and safe holidays! Remember: DON’T DRINK AND SHOVEL!!!
